Deceptive Business Practices
Keeper Security used to be amazing. It worked, was secure, and I could access my billing and account information with no problem, including being able to locate the renewal date for billing and being able to opt-out if I preferred.
Unfortunately, this is no longer the case, and the company is now deploying deceptive business practices. Per my records, my renewal date is Sept 9 of each year. On Aug 18th I received an email that started:
Dear Keeper Customer,
Your Keeper account is expiring within 30 days. Please renew now. If you do not renew, your account will expire and you will lose access to essential Keeper Unlimited features.
Ok, no big deal. This is in line with my renewal date. Only problem, it is nowhere near September 9th, and I have already been billed and payment taken for another year. No invoice showing the charges, no way to view any billing or payment history, no way to access the account - only the web vault that gives zero information, no place to cancel or turn off auto renew, nowhere to see what card they have on file.
I couldn't even cancel or update anything prior to being billed on the renewal date even if I wanted to give, that they email and charge you 3-weeks PRIOR to the agreed upon renewal date.
It is 2022 and any company that does not provide transparent access to billing and payment information or a way to cancel/make changes, is dishonest and deceptive. Everyone should beware of working with this company and I will be pursuing this further as well as finding another solution. A simple Google search revealed that there are many others who have experienced the same issue.
